!Hola! ?Como estas?
Which means "Hello! ?How are you?"

If want to call this a cycle path…we haven’t had the chance to enjoy shoulders on the HWY here yet
Five days in Baja, Mexico with no Spanish speaking experience and a cultural shock at the same time can be heavy for people like me. Limited to speaking to locals creates boundaries which I have never experienced before, is becoming a good lesson in patience. Wanting to know much more about their culture but really can’t. Facial expressions and gestures are very helpful for the time being.

If you look closely you can see an electric tower... which helps with the perception of height
A 10 years old boy named Miguel approached me yesterday. My thoughts were what a nice little boy that has the intentions to get to know me and play. But finally, all he wanted was money. Miguel followed us. We were doing internet at a café and he brought his mother to us. She was pregnant with twins with 3 children already…at the age of 28… just a year older than I. Finally expressing my congratulations to her…she didn’t seem too excited about it. She was there to ask for money as well in the end.

Fishermen in the Pacific Ocean
Most of my friends, that have traveled expressed this to me that money will be asked for. It makes me realize that we are very fortunate to have been born in such a rich country…that is full of materialism, consumerism and consumption…which is actually better…I really don’t know. I guess you could say that I am confused about the whole situation. Difficult to understand the disturbing balance…what balance…? The word compassion comes to mind. Having compassion and understanding of other ways of life helps me accept without judgment people’s way of life: to embrace it and fill my curiosity to know more about their way of life.
